Common Inquiries

What services do you offer?

I offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, and ongoing treatment planning. Services are offered through telepsychiatry.

Do you see teens, adults, or older adults?

Yes, I work with teens ages 17 and up, adults, and geriatric populations.

What is telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry is a secure, HIPAA-compliant video visit that allows you to receive mental health care virtually. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access and a private space.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network benefits, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

What forms of payments do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Health Savings Account, ACH Bank transfer, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, Apple Pay, Square Invoice, Cash, Check

How long are the sessions?

Initial evaluations usually last 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are typically 20-30 minutes.

How fast can I get an appointment?

Colorful Journey Therapy LLC accepts new patient appointments in less than 3 business days. In many cases I have appointments available within 24 hours. If you do not see an appointment that works for you, please call 904-712-5158. Depending on my availability, I may be able to offer appointments after 5pm CST and/or weekends.

How to send referrals?

I welcome referrals from healthcare providers, therapists, schools, and community organizations. Please email info@colorfuljourneytherapy.com or call 904-712-5158. Referrals can also be made by having the client contact us directly. Clients are always welcome to reach out on their own through my website or Psychology Today profile.

How do you protect my information during telehealth visits?

Using secure, encrypted, and HIPAA-compliant platform. Both you and your provider should take steps to ensure privacy. I recommend using a private location, a secure Wi-Fi network, and a personal device for your virtual visits. At Colorful Journey Therapy LLC, we understand that your health information is personal and sensitive. We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy and security of your Protected Health Information (PHI), in full compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable privacy laws. 

What is the patient portal?

The patient portal is a secure way to communicate and message your provider. You can also schedule an appointment through the portal. We kindly ask everyone to register for the patient portal prior to their initial appointment. You can access the patient portal anytime from our website or through this patient portal link.

What to do in case of mental health crisis?

Patient safety and well-being are my top priorities. If I am unavailable during a mental

health emergency, please follow this plan to ensure you have immediate access to

support and resources.

Emergency Contact information:

988 Suicide Hotline & Crisis Lifeline: Call or Text 988 for immediate support

from trained crisis counselors who are available 24/7.

Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor via

text.

Contact your Local Mobile Crisis Unit or Crisis Stabilization Center for on-site mental health support.

Hospital and Emergency Services:

Go to the nearest psychiatric emergency room or general emergency

department or urgent care for in-person evaluation and assistance.

Call 911 immediately if you are in imminent danger of harming yourself or

others, or if you are experiencing a medical emergency. State “it is a mental

health emergency or medical emergency.”

Community Resources:

Find a Local Mental Health Clinic or Walk-in Crisis Services for in-person evaluation and assistance.

Search for Peer Support Organizations such as National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) which offers NAMI connection and NAMI Family Support

Group and Mental Health America (MHA) which provides resources and connects to local affiliates and peer-run organizations though its Directory of Consumer-Driven Services.
